Bunker Prices in Ceuta
Ceuta is the Spanish bunkering port on the African side of the Strait of Gibraltar. There is no refinery in the city: fuel arrives by tanker into storage terminals in the port and is delivered by pipeline alongside the quay (ex-pipe) or by barge, so ships on the Atlantic–Mediterranean passage can lift fuel on a short call.

Bunkering at Ceuta

Ceuta competes with Gibraltar and Algeciras across the Strait for the same stems. Since 1 May 2025 it is inside the Mediterranean SOx ECA, so 0.10% fuel applies while sailing in the Med; VLSFO stays relevant for the ocean legs west of the Strait.

Frequently asked questions
Ceuta, Gibraltar or Algeciras?
All three serve ships passing the Strait. Ceuta delivers ex-pipe at the quay as well as by barge; Gibraltar and Algeciras have the larger supplier pools. Availability, quantity and your schedule usually decide it, and live quotes from both sides of the Strait settle it for a specific stem.
What moves the price in Ceuta?
Mainly three things. With no refinery in the city, product comes in by tanker, so freight and storage are part of the price. There are fewer suppliers than in the Bay of Gibraltar, so less competition on a given day. Ex-pipe delivery at the quay saves the cost of a barge. Inside the Med ECA gas oil is the main grade sold, while high-sulphur fuel is bought only by ships with scrubbers.
